Workstation IOL facilitates the sorting of intraocular lenses.

At ESCRS 2018, TRIOPTICS GmbH presented the new IOL workstation, which allows efficient and reliable sorting of IOLs after quality control.

OptiSpheric

The OptiSpheric® IOL PRO 2 from TRIOPTICS has been established for many years for the quality control of several intraocular lenses (IOLs) in one workflow. This is an optimized inspection system designed for use in production. It determines all the optical parameters of an IOL in accordance with ISO 11979. While the measurement of the IOLs is fully automated, the lenses are sorted manually. In order to facilitate this process, TRIOPTICS presented the IOL workstation for the first time at ESCRS 2018 as an additional workstation to the OptiSpheric® IOL PRO 2.

At the heart of the IOL workstation is a display that shows for each lens whether the quality control has been passed. “After the measuring process, the test results are automatically transferred to the customer’s database and to the display,” explains product manager Dörte Zimmermann. “The test specimen carrier is first identified via a barcode scanner in order to avoid confusion. A red-green colour scheme indicates whether a lens was found to be good. This makes sorting easy, fast and, above all, safe.”

Das Prüfergebnis des OptiSpheric® IOL PRO 2 wird angezeigt und erleichtert so die Sortierung der IOLs.

The test result of the OptiSpheric® IOL PRO 2 is displayed and thus facilitates sorting of the IOLs.
