On June 12th Dirk Seebaum gave a very interesting presentation on the topic of assembly and testing of LiDAR components at the AutoSensONLINE Conference. The presentation outlined the early development of processes for passive and active alignment as well as for testing of the optical systems. The lecture also showed the results from prototype manufacturing of product validation samples for LiDAR systems. Using the same metrology, the same control algorithms and the same software tools from prototyping, the scaling up for series production could be ensured without changing the technology or the basic equipment.
